Nippy Dipper
THIS IS NOT A RACE. Just a quick dash or stroll or tango into the North Sea. (100 metres). A klaxon is sounded by the Event Organiser and everyone enters the waters in their own style and costumes.
It's a quick dip and splash and then in your own time, back to the Beach Leisure Centre to dry off and get free cup of tea to warm up.
This is definitely a Bucket List Activity.
What better way to wake up the body and senses with a super refreshing dip in the North Sea. Be Brrrrave! Raise Money! Raise Awareness. Nothing is too much for your favourite charity.
REGISTRATION AND DIP TIME:
Registration starts at 9:45 am
Dip commences at 10:30 am
Lord Provost Barney Crockett on taking part.
“It was certainly a bracing thing to do the day after Christmas,” Barney said afterwards in his dripping Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer onesie.
“It’s great to support the Lions and all the charities and to see a huge crowd here.
“It’s a marvellous event. I’ll definitely be doing it in 2019 as well.”
